Directors

Donald Richardson
​Managing Director

Donald has over the last 22 years in New Zealand, been involved with design, technical supervision and management of projects, people and consulting engineering offices in Tauranga. This involvement has covered the fields of structural, civil and industrial infrastructure, stormwater and utilities infrastructure planning and design as well as asset management and long term (LTP) planning processes for Councils. 
​
Donald’s historic background is in Industrial structural design, wastewater treatment and pipeline infrastructure, heavy foundation works and road bridge structural design.

Philip Kruis
​Director

Phil is a team leader and contract manager and has project managed numerous projects over the past eight years for the local councils as well as private clients.


​​He has provided management and practical technical leadership services for water, wastewater and storm water investigations, renewals and capital works projects and is responsible for the general day to day administering of contracts to ensure projects are completed to our client’s satisfaction and to the applicable Codes of Practice and NZ Standards.

Wayne Sanger
Civil Engineering Technician
Wayne has over 17 years' experience in Civil Engineering projects in New Zealand and has undertaken a  number of functions within the civil engineering field.

​Wayne has worked for both contracting and consulting firms and his work has varied from contract, staff and construction plant management to initial topographical survey for engineering design, detailed design and drafting, contract specification writing, MSQA and preparation and lodgement of asbuilts.
​
His work has been for various engineering projects, such as roading, stormwater and sewer upgrades in the Rotorua, Taupo, Eastern and Western Bay of Plenty, and Tauranga areas.
​​

Lynette Meintjes
Civil Engineering Technician
Lynette has three years' land development engineering experience, 13 years' engineering draughting experience and over 25 years' experience within the engineering field.
 
At Tiaki, Lynette is involved with Earthworks, Three Waters, and subdivision development. Lynette has a wide range of skills from construction monitoring to ensuring compliance and regulatory standards are met. Lynette also specialises in consenting, catchment assessment, and contract administration. 
    

Lynette has experience in the administrative side of running an engineering office and is confident preparing tender documentation and drawings.

Carel De Jager
Civil Engineering Technician
Carel has more than 15 years’ experience in the urban development and water engineering fields of civil engineering, both in the private and public sector.  
​
As a consultant, Carel has gained experience in the form of draughting, designing, planning, and managing of projects internally and externally.
​
Currently Carel is responsible for the design and management of civil engineering projects, focussing on the management of stormwater. Carel specialises in Stormwater Management, Desktop Hydrological Analysis, 3-waters Reticulation Design, Earthworks Designs, and Hydraulic Infrastructure Design of both resource and building consent approvals.

Geoffrey Everitt
GIS Draughting Technician
Geoffrey is a recent graduate in Geographic Information System (GIS). Geoffrey is experienced in preparing and submitting asbuilts which require collecting information and using data to verify constructions were built to the specifications.

As an in-house GIS draughting technician, Geoffrey offers effective support to civil engineering projects to achieve the best outcome.

​With fresh new ideas, Geoffrey is developing systems to provide a streamlined and more efficient service for Tiaki’s clients.

é le Roux 
Bridge Design Engineer
Jeandré is a structural engineer with 7 years' experience in the power & gas industry. 

He has experience in the design of complex structures such as silo's, conveyor gantries, monorails, bridge cranes, pre-stressed concrete bridges and culverts and the everyday industrial warehouses, masonry, concrete and steel structures.  

Jeandré has an appetite for challenging projects with an eagerness to study extraordinary concepts, to develop new skill sets and promote skill transfer to clients, colleagues and students.

Paul van den Hoven
Engineering Technician
Paul has over 30 years' experience in Civil Engineering projects.
His extensive structural engineering background covers a wide range of disciplines, this includes structural detailing of bridges and bridge components in materials such as; steel; in-situ/pre-tensioned/post-tensioned concrete timber; bridge seismic retrofit projects, bridge inspections; structural details of culverts and tunnels; commercial/industrial buildings; construction monitoring of bridging projects including processing of construction queries, quality records maintenance and as built drawing production.
​
Paul has done roading design and draughting for new highway projects and shape correction/pavement rehabilitation for existing roads.
​

Structural Engineer​
Peter has experience in civil engineering projects across Africa, Australia and New Zealand. He has contributed to both civil and structural designs of industrial, water treatment, bulk water supply, reservoir and commercial structures. 

Peter has worked mainly as a consulting engineer for private and government clients. He has worked on site as a resident engineer which has contributed to his practical design skill set. His experience includes contract management, rehabilitation of structures, concrete durability specifications, concrete/steel/timber structural analysis & design, geotechnical designs, seismic designs and construction monitoring with a strong interest in material sciences and geotechnical design
.

Dragan Zdravkovic
Structural Engineer
Dragan is a skilled structural and construction engineer with over 15 years’ experience. Dragan has worked as a structural design engineer in both Serbia and New Zealand and has accumulated a wealth of knowledge in his field.
​
Dragan specialises in structural design and engineering and is experienced with a large range of materials such as steel, timber, and reinforced concrete and masonry buildings.

Dragan is currently responsible for performing structural analysis, design and detailing for various residential, industrial, and public projects in accordance to NZ Standards and the NZ Building code.

Hugh Barraclough
Engineer
Hugh 
has over 17 years' experience within the civil engineering industry, focusing primarily in the civil and structural fields. 

He has experience in the design, preparation of drawings, contractual documentation, tender adjudication and project implementation management stages of a variety of commercial, residential and industrial structures, as well as civil structures such as reservoirs, treatment works, bridges and culverts, and general bulk water infrastructure projects.  

Hugh has worked primarily within the consulting engineering sector both in South Africa and New Zealand, working closely with both private and government (both local and national) clients from project inception to close out phases.

​Hayley Andrew
Engineering Technician
Hayley has over 15 years' experience in project design and delivery for a variety of civil construction projects and the submission of the associated consents.

She has a good working relationship with BOPRC and the NZHPT.  She is familiar with the requirements of obtaining Archaeological Authorities, for sites where previous assessments have indicated items of archaeological significance.
​
​Hayley is experienced in consulting with affected parties to obtain the required approvals for works, contract document preparation, physical works administration, liaison with the local authority staff and Contractors, preparation of contract schedules and estimates and drafting of contract drawings sets.

Mariana Shaw
Structural Engineer
Mariana is a talented structural engineer with experience in both a consultancy environment and working independently. Her academic background allows her to get increasingly involved with our Engineering projects.
 
She has experience in structural design, organisation and project planning, preparation of AutoCAD drawings, report and presentations development, and assists with the design, composition and production of engineering proposals and presentations. 

​Mariana has extensive experience in projects involving residential timber structures, timber and steel bracing, concrete foundations, slab designs and raft foundations. Mariana has also advised on commercial seismic restraints for building services. 

 


Geotechnical Team

Dan Bond
Engineering Geologist
​Dan has worked as an Engineering Geologist in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom.

Dan’s roles have been across a wide variety of schemes from conception stage through to details design, including; road infrastructure, slope stability investigations of abandoned underground mine workings, and grout injection projects. Key project responsibilities have included; geotechnical investigations, interpretation, analysis and assessment, design, and technical reporting.
​
Dan’s extensive experience over 15 years, along with working in various climatic and soil conditions, provides a wealth of knowledge and understanding in the geotechnical civil engineering field.

Matt Price
Engineering Geologist
​Matt has worked as an Engineering Geologist in Australia and New Zealand and has a bank of practical experience on geotechnical and environmental projects.

His experience includes; geotechnical investigations for large industrial structures, high-rise residential developments, subdivisions, aged care facilities, and large infrastructure projects including tunnels and roads.

​These projects have involved retaining wall design, slope stability analysis, pavement design, earthworks reporting, construction monitoring in soil and rock, project management, CPT testing and interpretation, and environmental sampling. 

Office staff

Wendy Tully
Office Administrator
​Wendy started at Tiaki in May 2018 and is our Office Administrator. Wendy is the friendly face of Tiaki and is proactive in organising, managing, and running Tiaki's busy office.

Wendy’s background is in Contract Administration and Dispatch Management for a water, waste & stormwater management firm contracting for WBOPDC Council. 
Wendy manages the office including the accounts, health & safety, fleet management and, staff induction and training.

Previously, Wendy worked in Office Management for a mechanical firm in Brisbane, Australia.
