The new reservoir that is being constructed at Joyce Road is really starting to take shape. The perfect conditions today allowed us to take some drone pictures of the site.
Pretty spectacular don't you think?
Tiaki ECL were commissioned in March 2018 to investigate the site of a new bridge near Pirongia, Southern Waikato over the Moakurarua Stream. The upstream catchment and flood clearance constraints required a 38m single span structure. A composite concrete deck/steel beam solution was chosen as the most appropriate solution to meet the client’s needs. After working through all of the legal constraints, the fabrication is now underway at the Bridge It NZ yard in Mt Maunganui. After galvanising (zinc thermal spray), the steel components will be transported to site for assembly and lifted into place using a 300t mobile crane. Paul and Jeandre are seen inspecting the main beams undergoing manufacture.
